You likely reached this article because you have a story to tell. We all have stories, but some stories require a legal platform to tell and bring justice to. When you visit the Hunter Law Firm home page, the first thing you see is “An Advocate to Your Story.” When you hire me, Attorney Anne Hunter, that’s exactly what you get.
I understand how difficult it is to search for, reach out to, hire, and trust a Tennessee employment law attorney. My clients are often handling sensitive topics that require compassion and integrity. So, why would I be the right person to put your trust in?
A true advocate
I am an advocate. I proudly display it on my website and make sure my clients know I will be the biggest advocate in their legal case they could ask for. As they say though, actions speak louder than words.
I am not just a cheerleader. I have extensive training and experience in Trauma-Informed Legal Advocacy (TILA) which uniquely positions me to bring trauma-inforced principles to the legal representation of those who have suffered trauma. This includes forms of violence, harassment, and discrimination.
I am also a part of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund which resulted from the #MeToo movement. When survivors reach out to these organizations, they are frequently referred to me as a preferred provider who has experience handling these sensitive issues.
Nearly three decades of experience
I have been a licensed attorney since 1995. My nearly three decades of experience fighting for what’s right and what’s deserved guide each and every case I take on.
What does this experience bring to your case? I know the judges and employment law practitioners in the Middle Tennessee area. I have worked with them and gotten to know them which allows me to position your case in the context of how those individuals will respond.
Additionally, my experience as the former President of the Tennessee Employment Lawyer’s Association (of which I am still an active member of the board) further solidifies my expertise in the area of employment law in the Volunteer State.
I know it’s not all about trials and litigation
You learn a lot in three decades. One of the biggest lessons I bring to my clients is that not every case needs to be forced through the same pipeline of trials or litigation. Pursuing a lawsuit or going to trial takes time and can often retraumatize victims of horrible acts such as sexual harassment or assault in the workplace.
I am trained and certified as a mediator in Tennessee with 40+ hours of training. This is one of the many tools I use to a client’s best advantage when working with you. Some attorneys want to hand you a step-by-step guide to your case, but this neglects the importance of making individualized strategy decisions based on the facts of your case.
A small-town girl in the big small town
I come from a small town in Wisconsin with just about 900 people. The strong values and strong labor unions where I grew up instilled principles that I bring with me to this day. Nashville is a big small town and there frankly aren’t many attorneys who do what I do and know how to do it well.
As a mother, calming people through a crisis is second nature at this point. As an attorney, I believe it’s important to bring the values and lessons learned from our own personal experiences to the work we do for clients.
